State Universal Basic Education Board
(SUBEB) has opened tender for bidding of Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) 2022 Special Request projects.
Speaking at the event held at SBMC hall, the Executive Chairman of the Board Dr. Danlami Hayyo said the projects to be executed is part of BESDA implementation program aimed at reducing the number of Out of Schools Children.
The Executive Chairman, who was represented by the Permanent member I, Alhaji Kabiru Ahmad said tender opening is part of due process for awarding contracts for accountability and transparency
While opening the tender, Dr. Hayyo has disclosed that the bidding covers construction of Modern Tsangaya, construction of six bed room NYSC staff Lodge at Smart school Tarda, Construction of wall fence at Ungogo Special Primary School in Ungogo Local Government Area and provision of three seater wooden and steal desk among others.
He said despite the state Government under the leadership of Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is doing everything possible to transform the Basic Education system however, BESDA program is equally to that effect.
The Board Chairman appreciated the State Governor for prioritizing education, stressing that laudable feat in the education sector would not have been possible without his commitment and determination.
In his remarks, the Boards’ Secretary who double as Chairman Tender Evaluation committee Mallam Baffa Saleh reassured that only Qualified and competent contractors will be awarded.
He therefore charged successful contractors to abide by the contract agreement for successful completion of the project.
“The bidding is open and transparent and those who are qualified will be notified” he added
On his part, the State Chairman Contractors Association Alhaji Bilya Assasco thanked the board for opening the tender and promised to ensure that all successful bidders will deliver quality work in accordance to specifications.
In their separates remarks, , the Chairman Of Nigeria Institute Quantity Surveyor (NIQS) Ibrahim Ali Sadik and the Director Planning Research and Statistic State Ministry of Works, Hajiya Aisha Umar expressed their satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise.
