SUBEB and ULS celebrates Read aloud day

Training children to imbibe reading culture has been described as a best way to improve their communication skills
The Executive State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Danlami Hayyo stated dropped the hint at this year’s annual celebration of the World Reading aloud day was organized by the Board In collaboration with Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC ) Abuja and Universal Learning solution program held at conference hall of the Board .
Represented by the permanent member I Alhaji Kabiru Ahmad, the Executive Chairman added that reading can help children with language acquisition, Communication skills social skills and literacy skills.
While applauding Jolly phonic programme for training primary schools on how to read and pronounce letters correctly, Dr. Danlami Hayyo restated that jolly Phonics is tested, proven and trusted.
He expressed his satisfaction with commitment of Jolly Phonics teachers for their professionalism in teaching, then called on them to continue practicing their skills and technics so as to help learners to be able master reading terminologist which he described as first step of exploring new thought, ideas and value within and outside their society.
Congratulating the children and teachers for thee celebration of the day the Executive chairman assured the redness of the board to continue supporting any move aimed at improving the standard of Education by individuals or organization
The SUBEB Jolly phonics coordinator Mallam Nura Ibarahim said Kano state Universal Basic Education Board in collaboration with Universal Learning Solution joined other country to celebrate Read aloud day, noting that the day was to showcase the improvement of literacy level achievement in public schools.
The Coordinator also revealed that the day was set aside worldwide annually to highlight the importance of reading to the children with a view to inculcated reading habit among them especially at basic Education level.
In their separate remarks, the Deputy Director Quality assurance and Assistance Director, Muhammad Sani Shehe and Mallam Umar Sharif described reading as best option to improve vocabulary and all form communication skills.
