POST LITERACY SENSITIZATION

The Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, has said Education polocies and Programme could be meaningful if stake holders  works and contribute accordingly.

Dr. Hayyo made the remark at a one day Sensitization and Drive Campaign on Post literacy and Cohort 3 activities under Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) organized by the State Universal Basic Education Board through Kano Muncipal Local Government Education Authority held at Gidan Makama Special Primary School.
Represented by the Director Social Mobilization Hajiya Amina Umar the Chairman said the event was organized to sensitize relevant stake holders on the two BESDA activities, Post literacy and Cohort 3 to mobilize and solicited the support of the Community members for successful implementation of the two activities. 
He highlighted that the Post literacy is a program for eight metropolitans local Government designed to train Tsangaya and Learning center students who registered and completed cohort one and two and wishes to further their literacy level, adding that it is a good opportunity to them to main stream to upper basic classes.

Moreover, the Executive Chairman added that, cohort 3 is also designed to train students of new established Tsangaya and Learning center across forty four Local Government Education authorities    therefore called on Alarammas, Proprietors and communities members to support and contribute toward the success of the program.

In his speech, the Education Secretary of the area,  who was represented by the Head of unit Personnel Mallam Yusah’u Garba  said   the Local Government Education Authority of the area  has successfully completed Cohort 1 and 2  while arrangements for the commencement of cohort 3 and post literacy were put in place  accordingly.       
 He added that the LGEA has since distributed of teaching and learning materials, mats, white Boards and other relevant items to the new established Tsangaya, Learning centers and post literacy centers.
While thanking BESDA and SUBEB management for the provision of the items, she called on the beneficiaries to make good use the materials to justify huge amount spent. 

 In their separates remarks, the Chairman, School Based Management Committee ( SBMC) and the Chairperson Mothers Asociation,  Ya’u Wada and Hajiya Amina Mai shanu assured their redness to mobilize community member to ensure that  all Out of Schools Children in the area were enrolled in tsangaya or learning centers to access basic education.


The Head of Unit  Social Mobilization  Malama Zainab Shehu thanked the participants at the event for honoring the invitation then urged them to put in their best in mobilizing and sensitizing the  community  member on the new development.
The District head of the area and the Madakin of Kano, Alhaji Yusif Iibrahim Nabahani chigari represented by the village Head  of Gandu, Engineer Alkasim Yakubu assured full support of traditional rulers in the area to ensure successful implementation of the program.
Speaking on behalf of Tsangaya Proprietors of the area Mallam Mustafa Salanta thanked BESDA and SUBEB for introducing  teaching of Literacy and Numeracy in Tsangaya Schools, saying that this is best way of making education accessible to all children of school age.

He called on all relevant authority 
concern to continue paying incentive allowance to them  promptly to boost their morale.     

 Climax of the event was registration of new student for Tsangaya and Learning center.
