Governor Abba Kabir Yusif to revive and transform education: Doguwa

The State commissioner for Education Alh. Umar Haruna Doguwa, said, the present administration of Abba Kabir Yusif,has a good plan aimed at reviving and transforming Education at all level.
Umar Doguwa stated this, while monitoring Jolly Phonics Training at Dukawuya Girls science project school, in Gwale Local Government area.
The commissioner said, he was highly impressed with the mode and methodology of the training.
“If what I have seen here transfer and translate into class room practice, surely the level of literacy would be improve in our schools” Doguwa affirmed
He added that the administration of Abba Kabir Yusif also focused on building the capacity of teachers through training within and outside the state to pave way to teachers to able to explore his/her potentiality and also to be able to deliver efficiently.
While commenting on solar ‘the jolly player’ the Commissioner has described the new initiative as welcome development and timely especially at the period when most of areas are facing power failure challenges.
“I have realized that the radio can be used in a classroom teaching to support the instructors to teach, English sounds, identification of letter sounds, blending (reading), jolly songs and conversation to learners” he said
The commissioner congratulated the participants, for having the great opportunity to be among the trainees, noted that the move would boost their talents.In addition Doguwa called on the participants to pay more attention to the Facilitator and participate actively in the training so as to reciprocate to the hard work of the organizers.
During the visit,the commissioner was accompanied by the acting chairperson, State Universal Basic Education Board, Hajiya Amina Umar and other directors from SUBEB and State Ministry of Education.
