KNSG  to hold Education day: Doguwa  By: Alhassan Hassan / Balarabe Dallami Jazuli 

The State Commissioner for Education Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa has said Kano State Government   has good plan to hold education day to appreciate individual, group and communities contributions to education sector.  

The Commissioner announced this at Gandun Albasa Primary school, in Municipal Local Government Area while receiving teaching and learning materials  worth thousands of Naira donated to the schools by various groups and philanthropist. 

Umar  Doguwa reemphasized that though the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusif  has committed and determined to reinvigorate and transform Education sector however individuals communities and groups have vital roles to play to support the government to achieve it’s set goals in the that direction.

While thanking the groups  for the kind gesture,  the commissioner said, the State government  would organize an Educational Day  to honor  and appreciate  contributions  to education sector by individuals, Groups and Communities.

“We plan to honor the best school, best teacher, best Head teacher, SBMC and Old Pupils Association that contributed more to the development of their schools to motivate and encourage them” he said 
In her remarks the Ag Chairperson Hajiya Amina Umar said the donation was at the right time when the Board was highly committed in mobilizing communities to contribute their best   for the development of schools in their respective areas.  
       
She also tasked other communities and groups  in the state  to  emulate  the  groups  for the good move then she assured the board redness  to continue mobilizing the relevant stake holder   to  partner  with Government  to provide quality  and sound education to children of school age.

Earlier, Head teacher of the school  Abdullahi Muhd. Ubale said though the school is facing numerous challenges however many group are doing everything possible to support the schools to be able to address the challenges.
In addition Malam Abdullahi thanked the commissioner for Education Hon Umar Haruna Doguwa, the Acting Chairperson SUBEB Hajiya Amina Umar, and those contributed to the success of the event.

The materials donated to the schools include pupil’s school uniform, furniture, chalk Books and other teaching materials, cash for repairs of roofing and toilet.
